Cassie Mae’s Double Reveal!

Dude, this is so cool. Two books coming soon. Check it out!

How to Seduce a Band
Geek (How To #2)
Release Date: 05/06/14
Swoon Romance

Summary from Goodreads:
Sierra Livingston’s got it bad for her sister’s best friend, Levi
Mason—the boy who carries his drumsticks in his pocket, marches with the school’s
band, and taps his feet to whatever beat runs through his head. Sierra racks
her brain for ways to impress the sexy drummer, but the short skirts and
bursting cleavage don’t seem to cut it.

When Sierra gets paired with Levi’s sister, Brea, for a mentorship program,
they strike a deal. In exchange for Sierra keeping her mouth shut about Brea
ditching the program, Brea lets Sierra dig for more info on Levi to help get
the guy of her dreams.

But when Sierra discovers Levi no longer plays the drums, his family has moved
into a trailer, and he’s traded in his Range Rover for a baby blue moped,
Sierra’s not sure if she can go through with violating his privacy. She’ll have
to find the courage to ask him straight out—if he’s willing to let her in—and
explore other ways to seduce the school’s band geek.

How to Hook a Bookworm (How To #3)
Release Date: TBD
Swoon Romance

Summary from Goodreads:
It’s Brea Mason’s sixteenth birthday, and she has three wishes. 1.
Be magically eighteen like the rest of her friends. 2. Grow a money tree for
her family whose financial problems are well known about town.  3.
Overcome her test anxiety before she flunks out of every class.

But one day later, she’s still sixteen, her family’s money worries
abound, and she’s no closer to passing than she was the day before!

Then a very sexy transfer student—with gobs of cash—shows up. Brea
figures she has a better chance of burping up glitter than attracting the new
guy, but he seems extremely interested in her.

Just when Brea thinks things are looking up, her report card
arrives marked with four giant F’s. Enter resident bookworm and Brea’s loyal
friend, Adam Silver. If he can’t help Brea pass, no one can.

Even with Adam’s help, Brea can’t handle the mounting pressure,
and finds an escape with the new student who knows little about her
problems.

But spending oodles of time with her boyfriend strains the
friendship with Adam she relies so heavily on. Faced with losing the only real
comfort and support she has ever had, Brea starts to wonder if she can hook a
bookworm before it’s too late.

Praise

“One of the most inventive story worlds I’ve read in years…” Donald Maass, Author of Writing the Breakout Novel, Writing 21st Century Fiction, and The Fire in Fiction

“Such an engaging story featuring witty dialogue, gripping action scenes and a romance that will make your heart melt!” Laurel May

“I liked the mix of reminders I got from authors like Mervyn Peake, L.Frank Baum and Ray Bradbury. I’m sure that every reader will find shades of other famous writers, including or excluding these three.” Richard L. Bunning

“Eyelet and Urlick, the two main characters… There’s so much to love! They are like salt and pepper: totally different, spicy, argumentative, and brilliantly smart.” Rosemary Danielis

Excerpt From Lumière:

“Wait!” I shout, surging forward, shouldering my way through the crowd. I fight my way to the front and pound on the doors of the carriage. “Please!” I shout. “I need to speak to you!” But the stranger doesn’t hear.

He brings his whip down hard over his horse’s back and the carriage leaps forward, parting the angry crowd like soil in a furrowed field. “Wait!” I hoist my skirts and chase after the carriage. “Please!” I shout. “Please! Wait!”

A second crack of the whip and the carriage moves faster. I race on, struggling to keep up to its side. If I lose sight of the carriage, I’ve lost everything. All hope of ever leading a normal life.

I can’t let that happen.

Won’t let that happen.

He will not take my father’s machine.

“Please, I beg you, stop the coach!” I lunge, throwing myself at the back of the coach, barely catching a toe on the edge of the running boards, embedding my nails into the carriage’s seams. The carriage bursts forward through the streets of Gears, the city fast becoming a memory.

“Stop!” I plead as my boot slips from the running boards. I swing out to one side and dangle by one arm.

The stranger at the mount turns his head. “What are you doing?” he shouts. “Get off!”

“Get off?”

I kick my way back up onto the platform.

“I said get off!” he shouts again.

“I won’t!” I say, hoisting, myself up higher onto the cab.

My foot slips again and I sink beneath the rooftop, striking my chin hard on the way down. Grasping at the coach’s seams I desperately try to hold on, the toes of my boots burrowing twisted trenches in the dirt road below. My heart lodges in my throat as I lose my grip and swing out again to the opposite side.

“Bloody Hell!” I hear the stranger curse.

His face appears over the top of the cab seconds later. His eyes are lit like flares. I hang by the tips of my fingers, shocked, staring up at him. I don’t know whether to scream or cry.

Author Jacqueline E. Garlick

I’m Jacqueline Garlick. Author of YA, New Adult, and Women’s Fiction. I love strong heroines, despise whiny sidekicks, and adore a good story about a triumphant underdog. I love to read, write, paint (walls and paper) and plan cool writing events for cool writers. I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate, grammar, and technology. I prefer creating things to cleaning things, and baking to cooking. I believe laughter is a one-stop-shop solution to all that ails you and if that doesn’t work there’s always Ellen Degeneres. You will always find a purple wall (or two) in my house (perhaps even a door) and a hidden passageway that leads to a mystery room. (Okay, so you won’t find a hidden passageway but a girl can dream, can’t she?) Oh, and tea. There will always be tea. I love specialty teas…and collecting special teacups from which to drink them. (See website for collection.)

In my former life, I was a teacher (both grade school and college-don’t ask) and more recently I’ve been a graduate of Ellen Hopkin’s Nevada Mentor Program and a student of James Scott Bell, Christopher Vogler and Don Maass. An excerpt from Lumière earned me the 2012 Don Maass Break Out Novel Intensive Scholarship.

Lumière—A Romantic Steampunk Fantasy—is my debut novel, Book One in my young adult The Illumination Paradox Series. I am represented by Josh Adams of Adams Literary.

A Demos City Novel by Jonathan Lister Release Date: June 16, 2014 Target Reader: Adult Keywords: Urban FantasyWerewolf

Back of the Book

A father’s love doesn’t bend, so what happens when it breaks?

Corruption, dark truths, and a new Alpha mean Leon Gray’s days of running without a pack are over. At least, that’s what everyone but him believes.

He’d rather be helping his teenage daughter navigate the landmine life of a full werewolf, finish out his servitude as bodyguard to a former Demos City reporter and, in all honesty, not be taken advantage of by a beautiful woman who really only wants him for his body—figuratively and metaphorically.

Of course, the only way any of that might happen is if he’s dead. That’s likely given the information the reporter has unearthed and the territorial battles already underway between packs. If only Demos City’s corruption didn’t have such deep roots—older than the bones of the city or any of the werewolves who’ve decided to claim it. A city can only take so many power hungry mongrels invading it at one time, and Leon can only take so much knowing his daughter lives within its boundaries.

War has come to Demos City.

It’s up to Leon to fix … what’s most important to him.

Romance through the Ages (7 Book Romance Boxed Set)

Six authors teamed up to put together a boxed set of clean romances that they’re offering for just 99 cents on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes and Kobo. Recently, there have been a lot of boxed sets that have made it to the USA Today and NYTimes bestseller lists. Most of them are steamy books that you couldn’t really share with your mom or your daughter.

These author’s decided they’d like to give people an alternative by putting together a set of clean romances in time for Valentine’s Day.

“We’d love to make it to those bestseller lists because of the exposure it would get–we want people to know there’s a clean alternative. You can have love and romance and a great story without all the adult content..”

I know you’ll enjoy these books.
