Love this cover! Can I have the pig?
The blurb:
Sixteen-year-old Kyra, a highly-skilled potions master, is the only one who knows her kingdom is on the verge of destruction—which means she’s the only one who can save it. Faced with no other choice, Kyra decides to do what she does best: poison the kingdom’s future ruler, who also happens to be her former best friend.
But, for the first time ever, her poisoned dart . . . misses.
Now a fugitive instead of a hero, Kyra is caught in a game of hide-and-seek with the king’s army and her potioner ex-boyfriend, Hal. At least she’s not alone. She’s armed with her vital potions, a too-cute pig, and Fred, the charming adventurer she can’t stop thinking about. Kyra is determined to get herself a second chance (at murder), but will she be able to find and defeat the princess before Hal and the army find her?
Kyra is not your typical murderer, and she’s certainly no damsel-in-distress—she’s the lovable and quick-witted hero of this romantic novel that has all the right ingredients to make teen girls swoon.

About the author:
Bridget Zinn’s first YA novel, Poison, was released by Hyperion on March 12, 2013. Unfortunately, Bridget died from cancer in May 2011 at the age of 33. Being published was Bridget’s dream. Now, nearly four years to the day from her diagnosis, her novel is at last reaching readers.
Poison’s first review just came in, a near-rave from Kirkus Reviews, who write, “Don’t let the title or cover fool you! No grimdark teen fantasy or angst-y heroines here; just a frothy confection of a fairy tale featuring poisoners, princesses, perfumers and pigs, none of whom are exactly what they appear (except maybe the pigs)…. Good silly fun—a refreshing antidote to a genre overflowing with grit and gloom.”
Since Bridget isn’t here to share her novel, people are pulling together to help get the word out about this former librarian’s sweet, hilarious debut.

So great! I want to put a post up, as well. I got to read this as an ARC. Every time I see a post I want to cry. And I missed the video chat last night, argh!! I wanted to participate but I got busy with family stuff. Such great support of this author from the book community. So amazing! I have seen tons of blog posts about it. Gonna go make one up right now!

Brooke, I watched the small video clip on her blog today, and just sat there crying at the sadness of it all. So very sad. I hope to have a post up by week’s end, too. And now I’m getting all sad again just thinking about it.

The cover is amazing. It is so sad she didn’t live long enough to see the wonderful support her book has. Posting and spreading the word.
