V-Day feelin’ it or not so much?

Hi everybody.

So it’s February 14th and you know what that means … ♥ for those of you who love the day …  😦 for those of you who don’t.

If you met me in person and we were talking about ‘the day’, I might pretend to think Valentine’s Day is no big deal, play the holiday off. I might act aloof, maybe make excuses about how even if a guy asked me, I’d be way too busy washing my hair to go clubbing, or say I’d go to the movies but there’s nothing worth seeing, or that I can’t go to dinner because I’m on the caveman diet. I’d also be full of crap. We’ve all had those days, or years.  I myself was cynical, jaded and suspicious. Attractive right? Well I’d been burned.

I’m not so much the mushy type, but I am a romantic. I like getting flowers, I like it when I get kissed on the forehead and I like reading books where a guy says amazing things to the heroine. Things that I’d gladly bash her perfect little head in for so I could take her place in the scene. Er, if the scene were real, which meant the guy actually existed … oops which means so does the heroine, and I’m now a psycho killer.

Never mind.

Point is that girl was never me. Not really. Until it was. Because I met Harrison.

All that to say I am throwing my usually cool, I don’t care attitude to the four winds and share some quotes that sort of make me *sigh* Yeah. Words I got to appreciate once the right guy fought for me, broke me down and built me up again.

Well … at some point I just have to stop because I could go on all day. If you love young adult romace I bet you could, too. So what about you? Can you leave me with a favorite quote or book that pulls you from quiet respectability to sappy romantic? Or maybe you can share why you don’t ‘do’ V-day? Come on … if I did it so can you 🙂

    Oh, my gosh, Claire! I was going to post that exact quote from Jane Eyre. I LOVE that scene. I adore that line from The Outlander, too. I’m reading that series now and it’s KILLING ME! Okay, here’s another from another of my favorites.

    MR. DARCY: “You must know… surely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me.
