I haven’t enjoyed a heroine in a YA dystopian this much since Katniss and the Hunger Games! Tris is a beast, and Four, her instructor, is too cool. I eagerly await the sequel (Insurgent). If you haven’t read Divergent yet, you’re in for a wild ride.

I have been dying to read this book. It is always checked out at the library! A really cool kick-butt character new to the book scene is Erin from The Secret of Spruce Knoll by Heather McCorkle.

Wow, this is so hard. I loved Tris in Divergent, but I also liked Karou in Daughter of Smoke and Bones and Meghan Chase in the Iron Fey series. There are just so many great lead characters.

Feeling a fan-girl moment! I have so many favorite female kick-butt characters it’s hard to pick. So Katniss of course. 🙂 And Merit from Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampire series. For adult UF I love Kate Daniels from Ilona Andrews, Magic series…I loved the HG’s and dystopian in general and would love to get this book!

Ah man…my comment disappeared when I logged in. Starting over. I loved the HG books, so Katniss is my favorite! I also really like Merit from the Chicagoland Vampire books…she’s more adult though and also Kate Daniels from Ilona Andrews Magic series. I’ve been wanting to read this book and love all dystopian in general. 🙂 Thanks for the contest.

One of my favorite kick butt characters is Rose from the Vampire Academy series. She’s not afraid to go out and protect her friends or stand up to her teachers.

My favorite kick-butt character in all history is Suze Simon from The Mediator series by Meg Cabot.
She kicks ghost butt but also flesh-and bone people’s butt. Mean girls are in for a wild ride when Suze enters the room. Plus I love how she’s tough but she’s also VERY into fashion. Perfect combination of girly and amazing! ❤

Out of the books I’ve read, I really admire Hermione Granger (Harry Potter), Cammie Morgan (The Gallagher Girls series) and Katniss Everdeen. While Katniss is the strongest physically, all three heroines are so intelligent and resourceful and brave and determined that I swear they can persevere through anything. I’d love their courage and inner strength.

I am waiting for my son to read the book, then we will plan to go to the movie. I can’t wait! I rlleay liked the first two books, but in my opinion, Mockingjay fell flat. It almost seemed like she was in a hurry to finish the trilogy, and just did not think it through as well.
